Description

The RCT-1 Timer controls a 20A Automotive relay that is used to supply power to a mobile radio.  The primary purpose of the timer is to allow the vehicle power system to stabilize before applying power to the mobile radio.  This prevents large startup spikes from damaging the radio.   60 seconds after the ignition input is 12V the relay is energized.  Then when the ignition input goes back to 0 the relay will stay on for 20 minutes and turn off, allowing the radio to still be used after the bus or other vehicle is turned off.   If the ignition is turned on for at least 500ms but not greater than 3 seconds, then it will also turn on for 20 minutes.  This allows the radio to be powered on when the bus has not been started.
